The Thompson submachine gun was used in WWII, but several models bore the name. This one is the M1A1 Thompson, the more modern variant with improvements over older guns. Faux wood furniture is used in this airsoft copy instead of natural wood.
As with an older weapon, there are no Picatinny or Weaver rails. The only way to aim is through the default iron sights.
Besides the faux wood furniture, the components are mostly made of plastic. This makes the gun very light. In fact, it only weighs 2.5 pounds, which is at least twice as lightweight as the real thing. The original Thompsons were quite heavy to carry around.
Depending on your BB weights, you may need to adjust and compensate for extra mass in your projectiles. You can adjust the hop-up in this submachine gun.
The handguard and stock have sling attachment points. This makes carrying the gun easier.
Youll find a 30-round stick magazine and drum magazine in the package. The drum has to be wound up and can hold 1,000 rounds. Youll almost forget to reload after hundreds of shots.
