The XM177 was one of the older solutions to introduce a shorter M16 rifle, though it didnt see widespread adoption like the M4. Even so, it paved the way for future carbines like the M4 and other models. This airsoft copy is practically identical to the original except for an orange tip.
The handguard is the standard old M16 design, slightly shortened. Therefore, it doesnt have any Picatinny rails to mount accessories on. However, its comfortable to hold with your off-hand.
The sights are like those on the older M16, with a fixed front notch and rear sight integrated into the carrying handle. Its adjustable, but not to the point of an M4s handle sights.
A smaller telescopic stock, a precursor to the M4 crane stock, is installed to the rear. The stock is adjustable to fit many arm lengths.
The controls are identical to the real XM177s, including the teardrop-shaped forward assist and bolt release. Its truly a faithful replica of an interesting firearm.
