There arent many companies that have managed to replicate their dependable craftsmanship and quality on the airsoft field. A&K is a rare exception, and their M1873 Mares Leg airsoft rifle is a perfect example.

The Mares Leg doesnt boast a modern design or anything modern, for that matter; other than whats under the hood.

What it does boast is a primarily metal build with imitation wood, which definitely makes the weapon feel realistic.

The lever action is based on its real steel counterpart, and the magazine built into the side of the weapon can take up to 25 rounds just like on the real gun.

The rear and front sights arent the most cutting-edge in design or performance, but neither are those on the real 1873. The goal here is making a realistic airsoft copy of the original gun, and A&K have definitely done a fantastic job in this department.

Make no mistake, though, this is a very functional weapon. It has a muzzle velocity of 360-390 FPS and can really deliver a punch.

The gun features an adjustable hop up, is around 630mm-long and weighs 1690 grams. The power source is green gas or propane (depending on your preference), so no battery required.

There is only one firing mode, and thats single-shot with lever action. This works just as it does on the real version of the weapon.

This gun is a fantastic tribute to the widely-renowned piece of old-school weaponry. Particularly fitting for period airsoft battle reenactment events.
