Most airsoft guns fire plastic BBs. However, steel BBs do exist for target practice or self-defense. This HK 416 .177 CO2 Air Rifle isnt too different from a green gas rifle, only it doesnt fire standard ammunition.Umarex designed this air rifle to fire .177 caliber steel BBs. The magazine contains the same 12-gram CO2 cartridges that other green gas airsoft guns use, but thats where the similarities end. Each magazine holds two CO2 canisters and 36 rounds. To help mount accessories, there is a quad rail handguard for attachments. Only the top rail doesnt reach all the way to the front sight. Fortunately, the iron sights on the rifle can be flipped up or down, depending on your configuration. The handguard has a large reservoir to help store up to 500 BBs. With this many in the rifle, you can shoot without reloading for a significant period of time.Unlike other replicas, this rifle doesnt fire in full-auto. The fire selector will only work for semi-auto and six-round bursts. Of course, the lever doubles as a safety catch. The stock is adjustable, and shooters only need a few moments to discover the perfect length.
